Earlier on this page, you noted a welcome letter and video from your teacher along with a short online biography or "bio" (a brief description or summary of oneself and one's interests).  Now it's your turn to share your bio with your teacher.  Things you will want share include . . .

Personal Background:

• • Name: Start with sharing your full name 
  • Background: Share where you are from and any interesting cultural or familial traditions.
  • Family and Pets: Briefly mention any family members or pets.

Interests and Hobbies:

• • Favorite Activities: Discuss your favorite hobbies, sports, or any extracurricular activities you enjoy.
  • Passions: Highlight any particular passions or interests that motivate you, such as art, music, science, or technology.

Academic Goals and Aspirations:

• • Current Academic Focus: Explain what subjects or areas of study you are most interested in and why.
  • Future Goals: Share your long-term academic or career goals, providing insight into what you aspire to achieve.

Fun Facts and Personality:

• • Humor and Personality: Include a few fun facts or quirky traits that make you unique, such as a hidden talent, a favorite book or movie, or an unusual hobby.

After brainstorming these topics about yourself, choose one of the following options and submit a bio for your teacher to see.

Dear Ms. Johnson,

My name is Alex Martinez. I am excited to be in your class this year! I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share a little about who I am.

I was born and raised in Austin, Texas, a city I love for its vibrant music scene and beautiful parks. I come from a close-knit family with two younger sisters and a golden retriever named Max. We enjoy spending weekends hiking and having family movie nights.

In terms of interests and hobbies, I have a passion for playing the guitar. Music is a big part of my life, and I spend a lot of my free time learning new songs and practicing with my band. Additionally, I enjoy playing soccer and am a member of the school's team. These activities keep me active and help me unwind after a busy day of classes.

Academically, I am particularly interested in science, especially biology. My goal is to pursue a career in medicine, and I am working hard to achieve high grades in my science courses to prepare for college. I hope to attend a university with a strong pre-med program and eventually become a pediatrician.

To share a bit more about myself, here are a couple of fun facts: I love reading science fiction novels, with "Dune" by Frank Herbert being my favorite. I also have a knack for solving Rubik's cubes and can complete one in under a minute!
