Module 1 Exit Test A

Overview

This exit test will allow you to show your understanding of important module objectives. The test consists of 15 questions and is worth 100 points.

 

Objectives

After completing this exam, students will be able to . . .

• identify the subsets and properties of real numbers. 
• list and compare real numbers in order.
• apply arithmetic operations on real numbers involving order of operations.
• evaluate an expression for a given value of a variable. 
• combine like terms within an expression.
• isolate the variable in an equation or formula.
• solve linear equations in one variable.
• create inequalities in one variable and use them to solve problems.
• determine if a solution works for a given inequality, graph solutions on a number line, and solve basic linear inequalities.
• solve more complicated inequalities involving variables on both sides and the Distributive Property.
• solve two inequalities that have been joined together by the words “and” and “or.”  
• solve absolute value equations.
• solve absolute value inequalities.
• convert units of measure into a different unit.
• write and solve an algebraic equation from a word problem.

 

Assessment Instructions

After you have read this page, click the button at the bottom to begin your test.  If your test does not open, it may mean that you need to use LockDown Browser or there may be other restrictions preventing you from accessing. Your test may also require a password which your facilitator will have to type in for you.  Students are not allowed to have test passwords.    It is important that you review concepts from the module and spend time studying before you begin the test.  Let your facilitator and teacher know if you have any trouble accessing the test. 

 

Please understand that to protect test security and to avoid academic dishonesty answers to questions on this test will not be visible after completion. If you desire to see the answers to a question you are welcome to meet with your teacher via Zoom to review your work.

You may use blank scratch paper and a calculator if needed.  A TI-83/84 graphing calculator is required for this course. If you do not have a TI83/84 (or equivalent) calculator available, you may use the optional Desmos Graphing Calculator to assist with this test. If you are unable to view or use this calculator, please use your handheld version.   

If you are unsure how to use the optional Desmos Graphing Calculator, watch this quick tutorial video before you begin your test. 

 

Note: The Desmos graphing calculator is sufficient for many of the concepts in this course, but does not include all the functions of a handheld graphing calculator that are needed at various points.
Restrictions: 
You may not use any other resource (electronic or human) to assist you. Use of any other resource is considered a violation of academic integrity.

 

Timing

This activity will take you approximately 40 minutes.

 

Completion

You will know you have completed the quiz when you have answered all questions and hit the submit button. A checkmark will appear in the box next to the item on the course page. You will also be able to see your score when clicking on the activity or looking in your grade book.
